Tengo entendido que se pueden presentar únicamente si cumplen 7 años durante el presente curso escolar.  No sé si es el caso de tus hijos.
En cuanto a si es bueno o no, mi recomendación como especialista en inglés es que esperes a 2º de Primaria. Problablemente todavía no supere el grado 1 pero se sienta más confiado. Si los presentas ahora al 1, el año que viene probablemente no alcancen el dos y deban esperar un añito. Por eso, lo que yo te recomiendo es que este año se queden como están y sigan aprendiendo. De todos modos, nunca es pronto para empezar. Son entrevistas orales con nativos que saben trabajar con niños, sacan juguetes, cuentos, etc. Los niños tan pequeños no saben de miedos ni vergüenzas. Además, el grado 1 no se suspende casi nunca, salvo casos excepcionales.

Also in Italy is very, very cold and in some areas the temperature is even 20 C° above zero.... Brrrrr !!!!
We have also a lot of problems with road traffic by reason of snow an ice !!!
