The British English Certificates Cambridge ESOL – English for Speakers of Other Languages:

• KET - KEY ENGLISH TEST - Certificate of Beginner level.
• PET - PRELIMINARY ENGLISH TEST - Intermediate level Certificate. With this level, the speaker can communicate in different  real life situations. Large vocabulary, capacity of reading and listening articles and texts, writing letters, writing notes during a meeting. All this requires an advanced level of English.
• FCE - FIRST CERTIFICATE IN ENGLISH – It is a Certificate for a superior level of English. It indicates an signifiant knowledge of grammatical structures, and a large vocabulary. It has been popularized by the British Council through the British Institutes.
