Microphone Configuration

How can I configure my headphones with the computer?

1. Test that your headphones are properly connected to your computer. Some headphones have a mute button; make sure that this button is not turned on.

2. Access the course:

  • When the Flash Player’s pop-up window appears asking for permission to have access to your webcam and microphone, DO NOT click any of the buttons.
  • Place the cursor on the Configuration window and right click.
  • Click on the option “Configuration” when the menu appears.
  • The configuration window will appear with the “Deny” option highlighted, because you have yet to accept access to the webcam and microphone. Click on the icon of the microphone you see in that window.
  • You’ll see that a vertical column will signal the microphone, let’s try it.
  • Speak into the microphone and observe the reaction to your voice on the indicator (the vertical column). If the signal doesn’t appear:
    • You can adjust the registered volume by moving the cursor that you see in the same window.
    • Verify that the microphone is properly connected.
  • If these parameters are confirmed, and you continue without a signal, it means the microphone is not properly set up with your computer system.
  • Click on the close button.
  • Return to the window where the permission for access to the microphone was first sought and click on accept.
  • Complete the Intonation exercise to ensure that the microphone has been properly installed.
