¿Cuáles son los certificados Cambridge?

Los exámenes que ofrece la Universidad de Cambridge son elaborados según los lineamientos del MCER (Marco Común Europeo de Referencia), el cual consiste en una escala para determinar el nivel de competencia en un idioma.
Los principales certificados que otorga la Universidad de Cambridge son:
- KET (A2 Key): Evalúa tu capacidad de desenvolvimiento en situaciones sencillas y corresponde al nivel A2 del MCER.
- PET (B1 Preliminary): Aquí debes manejar habilidades para expresarte en un contexto de estudio, trabajo o cuando haces un viaje. Corresponde a un nivel intermedio, esto es el B1 del MCER.
- FCE (B2 First): Debes dominar un inglés intermedio alto en un contexto laboral y/o educativo. Equivale al nivel B2 del MCER.
- CAE (C1 Advanced): Desempeño eficiente en el área profesional y de investigación. Corresponde al nivel C1 del MCER.
- CPE (C2 Proficiency): Corresponde al nivel C2 del MCER y certifica que tienes un nivel sobresaliente en inglés.
Cómo obtener el certificado Cambridge
Ahora que has determinado el tipo de certificado al cual debes apuntar, ten en cuenta las siguientes recomendaciones para que tu meta de obtenerlo se convierta en realidad:
1. Identifica tus fortalezas y debilidades
Posiblemente el speaking sea tu fortaleza, pero te cuesta escribir correctamente el inglés. O bien, la gramática te da un dolor de cabeza, aunque te encanta escuchar el idioma viendo series y películas.
Identificar tus debilidades te permitirá organizar las prioridades de estudio y equilibrar el dominio de la lengua.
2. Intenta practicar y estar en contacto permanente con el inglés
Existen muchas herramientas para integrar el inglés en tu vida. Aprende canciones en inglés, escucha y lee noticias (BBC, CNN), chatea en inglés con tus amigos, o bien descarga unas apps como la de ABA English para que tu experiencia de aprendizaje sea continua y divertida.
3. Organiza tu tiempo
Asegúrate de tener tiempo suficiente hasta el día de la presentación del examen y organiza un horario de estudio. Estudia diariamente y anota las dudas que vayan surgiendo.
