What is the purpose of obtaining the IELTS Academic certificate?

While with the IELTS General Training certificate you can prove you can communicate clearly and fluently in English both in writing and speaking at a student and work environment level, with IELTS Academic you can study a higher university degree or pursue scientific specializations in English-speaking countries.

The IELTS Academic certificate is granted based on the score achieved, on a scale where a rating of 7 or 8 equals level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR)
