Reading activities in English

Look for conferences

Most conferences available online also offer a transcript of everything discussed during the event.

Take advantage of this material and look for a conference on a subject of your interest. Read its transcript out loud and then listen to it again to compare your pronunciation with that of the live participants.

Read everything on your favorite websites

You are surely registered on several internet domains like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, etc.

Try browsing a bit on the English version of these pages to read interesting things like the FAQ, user forums, etc.

You will see how people interact and write online, which will allow you to implement some expressions in your daily life.

Compare your information sources

An interesting thing you can do is search for current news on Google and open two or three pages covering the topic.

Try to read each article once to see if they have the same details and information. Then do a second reading where you compare the style and structures used in the text.

You will see that there are different ways to say the same thing and this will help you enrich the way you express yourself.
