The origin of the Argentine accent comes from the Rioplatense dialect, which is heavily influenced by Italian, and whose main feature is ‘voseo,’ a linguistic phenomenon using the pronoun ‘vos’ accompanied by certain particular verb conjugations. It also has another peculiarity: ‘lunfardo,’ a dialect also mainly influenced by the Italian language and present in the lyrics of typical Argentine tango.
These peculiarities strongly influence the intonation used when speaking and affect how Argentines pronounce English.
